Terms of Service

Last updated 25 October 2026

These terms apply when you download, install or use ShiftDesk: the desktop apps, the browser client at getshiftdesk.com, ShiftDesk accounts and paid plans (together, the service). ShiftDesk is operated by FLOWTC LTD (“we”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales. Our details are at the end of this page. By using the service you agree to these terms; if you do not agree, do not use it.

1. What ShiftDesk does

ShiftDesk lets you see and control another computer over the internet or a local network. The picture, sound, keyboard and mouse input, clipboard, files and chat of a session travel directly between the two devices, encrypted end to end. Our servers help devices find each other, keep your account and plan, and, when no direct path exists, relay encrypted traffic they cannot read. Our Privacy Policy explains what data this involves.

2. Your account

You can use ShiftDesk without an account. To create an account or buy a paid plan you must be at least 18 years old and give a valid email address you control. Keep your password, your device passwords and your one-time codes to yourself: anyone who has them can connect to your devices. You are responsible for activity under your account and on devices you have set up for unattended access. Tell us straight away at [email protected] if you think someone else is using your account.

3. Connect only with permission

Remote access is powerful, and its misuse harms people. You must not:

Recordings and screenshots. ShiftDesk can save a session as a video or a screenshot on your own device. Laws on recording vary by country. Before you record, make sure you have any consent the law requires from the people whose screen, conversations or personal information appear, and keep the files secure.

If you see misuse, report it to [email protected] with the device address involved. We may block devices or accounts used in breach of this section, and we cooperate with lawful requests from authorities.

4. The apps

The ShiftDesk apps are licensed to you, not sold, under the ShiftDesk Licence Agreement, which you accept when you download or first open an app. In short: you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the apps in line with these terms and your plan. You may not sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute them, offer them to others as your own service, remove our notices, or reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or modify them, except where the law expressly allows you to. Open-source components included in the apps remain under their own licences. Updates may be required to keep using the service securely.

5. Plans and billing

The Free plan is for personal use. Its current limits (number of devices, simultaneous connections and session length) are shown on our pricing page. Pro and Team are subscriptions paid in advance monthly or yearly through our payment provider, Stripe. Before you pay, checkout shows the price, currency, billing interval and any tax.

When payments are refunded is explained in Subscriptions & refunds.

6. Your content

We claim no rights in what you show, send or record with ShiftDesk. It passes between your devices and is not stored on our servers. You are responsible for what you transfer and for keeping your own backups: a file transfer or clipboard copy that is interrupted may not complete.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep ShiftDesk fast and available, but connections depend on networks, devices and operating systems we do not control, and maintenance or outages can happen. We may improve, change or remove features. If we make a change that materially reduces what your paid plan includes, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel and receive a refund of the unused part of your current period.

8. Ending the service

You can stop using ShiftDesk at any time; to delete your account, email [email protected] from the address on the account. We may suspend or close an account or block a device if it is used in breach of these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect other users or our systems. Where we close a paid account for reasons that are not your fault, we refund the unused part of your current period.

9. Responsibility

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, and the service is provided for domestic and private use.

If you use ShiftDesk for business, we are not liable for loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill or data, or for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability arising from the service in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we will give reasonable notice by email or in the app before they take effect. Changes to paid terms apply from your next billing period. If you do not accept a change, you can cancel before it applies.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and may bring a claim in its courts. Please contact us first — most problems can be solved quickly by email.
